Bullfrog Bay More than five miles long, Bullfrog Bay has it all: marina, ferry, lakeside RV camping, miles of beaches, and stunning views of the Henry Mountains. At high pool elevations, shallow Smith Pass west of the marina allows access to Halls Creek Bay. Upper Bullfrog Bay spreads out considerably as the lake nears full pool and caution should be exercised for many shallows. Bullfrog Marina has a full array of services. Historically, the large gravel fan at the mouth of Bullfrog Creek created one of the few significant rapids in Glen Canyon. This stretch was called Bullfrog Rapids during the mining period and three to four-foot high waves gave boaters a choppy ride. Bullfrog supposedly got its name when a pioneer family discovered a croaking bullfrog at a spring where they drew water.
